Negative Stain TEM Imaging

NIS Molecule

Rapid Insights with Negative Stain TEM

NSTEM reveals key details about overall morphology, size, and structural features for a wide range of samples, including viruses & virus-like particles (VLPs), protein complexes, and more.

Get a Quick Look at your Sample

NSTEM can be used to assess sample quality or determine readiness for further imaging and analysis.

Gain valuable insights into:

  • Sample purity and particle integrity
  • Concentration and aggregation levels
  • Conformational flexibility and heterogeneity

Negative stain images can also provide 2D classifications to support 3D structure reconstruction workflows.

Gain a Detailed Assessment of your Nanoparticles with Negative Stain TEM Imaging

Negative staining is a sample analysis method which reveals particles’ gross structural details using a transmission electron microscope by embedding particles in a heavy stain.

Negative stain TEM provides high contrast images, and is suitable for detecting sample impurities and studying particle integrity. It is an excellent method for providing a “quick-look” at your sample to evaluate its suitability for further analysis.

We offer optimized negative stain TEM imaging for more detailed assessments of sample behavior. When combined with 2D class averaging, and our 3D visualization workflow, this provides insight into protein domain structure, antibody flexibility, and sample integrity and morphology, such as distinguishing discrete capsomers in AAV samples.

We offer rapid screening, imaging studies, and bulk imaging sets.
