The Scientist collaborates with external clients to plan cryo electron microscopy (cryo-EM) experiments to assess interactions between a target and therapeutic, typically with the end goal of determining high resolution protein structures. The Scientist works with an internal team to plan and execute experiments which meet project goals, and conducts review, interpretation and analysis of electron microscopy images and 3D maps ending with a written report summarizing the results to clients. The position is accountable for experimental planning, image analysis, report generation and delivering and explain results to clients, while providing excellence in customer service.  The Scientist is responsible for maintaining high quality standards while ensuring client specifications are met in the defined timelines for assigned projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Directly manage client projects including client communication, experimental design, project scheduling, data evaluation, data analysis and presentation                                                                
• Responsible for all scientific and technical communications with the clients, including discussion of clients' goals and expectation management                                                                                  
• Develop project specific workflows to address clients’ goals and implement them in collaboration with other team members                                                                  
• Effectively communicates and collaborates across functional groups to ensure efficient progress toward client goals
• Review scientific literature on samples to aid analyses and understanding of projects
• Responsible for electron microscopy data analysis and processing up to 3D reconstructions
• Responsible for model building and refinement
• Writing comprehensive reports detailing the findings from image analysis and processing
• Directly present ongoing analyses and results to clients in a timely manner and respond to feedback

A successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• PhD or analog in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biology or a related area of life sciences
• 2-10 years of experience in cryo-EM analysis of biological molecules; Experience in single particle analysis and high resolution cryo-EM structure determination
• Experience in model building and refinement
• Demonstrate a strong focus on customer service and client satisfaction while maintaining high ethics and scientific integrity
• Ability to maintain rigorous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to work and communicate with colleagues at all levels;
• Ability to work on multiple challenging tasks in a rapidly-paced environment
